While we don't have the exact location of Montezuma , we believe that it would have been located within present day Socorro County<2>. While we don't have a date for the founding of Montezuma, you might consider that their post office opened in 1896. Time Zone: The area where Montezuma was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time If Montezuma still existed, it would have been in the (575) area code. Communities Also Named Montezuma ...While we believe that this Montezuma is located in Socorro County, we know of another 2 New Mexico communities named Montezuma. Those communities are located in the following counties: San Miguel and Sandoval County.
