Welcome to Longs ...So far, we found very little information about Longs. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Longs to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. If you can help us with Longs, please Contact Us. Longs would have been located within present day Roosevelt County<2>. The location of Longs has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Longs, you might consider that their post office opened in 1907. While the community is gone, the present day location for Longs is 4,210 feet [1,283 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Longs is about ¾ mile [or ~1¼ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Longs was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel east from Longs (for example, toward Sudan (TX)), you will soon leave Mountain Time and cross into the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT). If Longs still existed, it would have been in the (575) area code.
