Welcome to East Camp ...So far, we found very little information about East Camp. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added East Camp to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. The location of East Camp has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of East Camp, you might consider that their post office opened in 1940. A typical abbreviation for East Camp: E. Camp While the community is gone, the present day location for East Camp is 5,750 feet [1,753 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of East Camp is about 1 mile [or 1¾ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where East Camp was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel west from East Camp, you will soon leave Mountain Time and cross into the Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST).
