With a 2010 count of 623 people, the population of Sedalia has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (with a count of 618 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Sedalia was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Sedalia post office opened in 1901.

We also found Sedalia on a map titled Rand McNally Map of North Carolina (1911).
