With a 2010 count of 440 people, the population of Avondale decreased 16.82% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 529 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Avondale was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Avondale post office opened in 1915.

We also found Avondale on a map titled Shell Oil Road Map for Missouri (1956).
