At the time of the 2010 Census, Stafford had a population of 1,042 people (which is 23.48% of the total population of Stafford County). This makes Stafford the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Stafford represents 0.04% of the total population of Kansas (which has 2,853,118 people), making it the state's 195th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,042 people, the population of Stafford decreased 10.25% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,161 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Stafford was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Stafford post office opened in 1878.

We also found Stafford in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
