The location of Carbonate has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While the community is gone, the present day location for Carbonate is 3,980 feet [1,213 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Carbonate is ¾ mile [or ~1¼ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Carbonate was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel east from Carbonate (for example, toward Plains (MT)), you will soon leave Pacific Time and cross into the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT). Carbonate would have been located in the (208) & (986)<5> area codes.
