The location of Emily has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Emily, you might consider that their post office opened in 1883. While the community is gone, the present day location for Emily is 1,100 feet [335 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Emily was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel west from Emily (for example, toward Ranburne (AL)), you will leave Eastern Time and cross into the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT). If Emily still existed, it would have been in the (770) area code.
