Welcome to Auraria ...So far, we found very little information about Auraria. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Auraria to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have a date for the founding of Auraria, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1834. While the community is gone, the present day location for Auraria is 1,400 feet [427 m] above sea level.<3>. Time Zone: The area where Auraria was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time The location where Auraria once stood is in the (706) & (762)<4> area codes.
