Time Zone: Washakie County lies in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Worland is the Seat for Washakie County.

Washakie County was founded in 1911 and was created by taking area from Big Horn County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Washakie had a population of 7,824 people. This is a decrease of 8.31% since the last Census (which gave a population of 8,533 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Washakie represented 1.51% of the total population of Wyoming.
