The population of Pratt represents 0.03% of the population of West Virginia (which has 1,852,994 people), making it the state's 150th most populous community.
With a 2010 count of 602 people, the population of Pratt increased 9.26% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 551 people).
Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two West Virginia communities named Pratt: This one is located in Kanawha County and the other is located in Roane County.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Pratt was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>
From that list, the Pratt post office opened in 1901.
We also found Pratt on a map titled Rand McNally Map of West Virginia (1911).
