At the time of the 2010 Census, Oceana had a population of 1,394 people (or 5.86% of the total population of Wyoming County). This makes Oceana the county's 2nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,394 people, the population of Oceana decreased 10.06% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,550 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Oceana was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Oceana post office opened in 1856.

We also found Oceana in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
