Time Zone: Doddridge County lies in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of West Union is the Seat for Doddridge County.

Doddridge County was founded in 1845. Doddridge was created by taking area from Harrison, Lewis, Ritchie and Taylor Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Doddridge had a population of 8,451 people. This is an increase of 3.04% since the last Census (which gave a population of 8,202 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Doddridge represented 0.44% of the total population of West Virginia.
