So far, we found very little information about Fort Howard. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Fort Howard , we believe that it would have been located within present day Brown County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Fort Howard, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1854.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Fort Howard was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Fort Howard post office opened in 1854.

We also found Fort Howard in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
