At the time of the 2010 Census, Big Bend had a population of 1,290 people. This makes Big Bend the county's 33rd most populous community.

The population of Big Bend represents 0.02% of the population of Wisconsin (which has 5,686,986 people), making it the state's 686th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,290 people, the population of Big Bend has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,278 people).

We originally found mention of Big Bend in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Big Bend was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Big Bend post office opened in 1848.

We also found Big Bend in the book titled Table of U.S. Post Offices in the United States (Jan. 1851).
