Taken from the 2018 Census Estimates, Algoma had an population of 3,045 people. This is a decrease of 3.85% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 9.29% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Algoma had a population of 3,167 people (or 15.39% of the total population of Kewaunee County). This makes Algoma the county's most populous community.

The population of Algoma represents 0.06% of the total population of Wisconsin (which has 5,686,986 people), making it the state's 286th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 3,167 people, the population of Algoma decreased 5.66% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 3,357 people).
