So far, we found very little information about Tono. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Tono would have been located within present day Thurston County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Tono, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1909.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Tono is 240 feet [73 m] above sea level.<3>.

Adding Tono to Our Gazetteer ...

We originally found mention of Tono in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Tono was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

X2X - From that list, the Tono post office opened in 1909.

We also found Tono mentioned on a train schedule titled Union Pacific Railroad Time Tables (September 1924).
