Miscellaneous References and Mentions
While our initial data about Spirit came from various goverment sources (GNIS, FIPS), we also found mention of Spirit in various books, maps and other sources. When we find a mention, a fact or snippet, we add that information to our Gazetter.
We've created the following list to keep track of the sources that proved useful in adding to our knowledge about Spirit. We hope that they will be useful to you.
Spirit is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>
From that list:
The Spirit post office opened in 1912 and had closed by 1917.
