Welcome to Sherman ...So far, we found very little information about Sherman. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Sherman to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. If you can help us with Sherman, please Contact Us. Sherman was located on Franklin D. Roosevelt Lake (central Washington state). Sherman would have been located within present day Lincoln County<2>. The location of Sherman has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Sherman, you might consider that their post office opened in 1884. While the community is gone, the present day location for Sherman is 2,400 feet [732 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Sherman is about ½ mile above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Sherman was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time Sherman would have been located in the (509) area code.
