The community of Middlebury is the Seat for Addison County.

Addison County was founded in 1785 and was created by taking area from Rutland County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Addison had a population of 36,994 people. This is an increase of 0.47% since the last Census (which gave a population of 36,821 people in 2010).

    • The GenDisasters website specializes in newspaper articles about tragedies and disasters. While it makes interesting reading all by itself, it should be of special interest to genealogists and family historians looking for people who were either affected by or directly involved in such tragedies.
