Welcome to Wasp ...

So far, we found very little information about Wasp. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Wasp to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Wasp - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Wasp, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Wasp , we believe that it would have been located within present day Carroll County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Wasp, you might consider that their post office opened in 1898.

Time Zone: The area where Wasp was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 3 communities that are also named Wasp - they are located in North Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Adding Wasp to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Wasp was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Wasp post office opened in 1898.

We also found Wasp on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Virginia (1911).
