At the time of the 2010 Census, Scottsville had a population of 566 people. This makes Scottsville the county's most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 566 people, the population of Scottsville increased 1.98% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 555 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Scottsville was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Scottsville post office opened in 1850.

We also found Scottsville in the book titled Table of U.S. Post Offices in the United States (Jan. 1851).
