Welcome to Oldfield ...

So far, we found very little information about Oldfield. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Oldfield to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Oldfield - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Oldfield, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Oldfield , we believe that it would have been located within present day Charles City County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Oldfield, you might consider that their post office opened in 1892.

Time Zone: The area where Oldfield was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

Communities Also Named Oldfield ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Virginia communities named Oldfield: This one is located in Charles City County and the other is located in Virginia Beach City.

Beyond Virginia, there are 8 communities that are also named Oldfield - they are located in Alabama, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland (2), Missouri and Ontario.

Adding Oldfield to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Oldfield was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Oldfield post office opened in 1892.

We also found Oldfield on a map titled Rand McNally Map (1911).
