While our initial information about Midway Island came from various goverment sources (GNIS, FIPS), we also found mention of Midway Island in various books and other sources.
We've created the following list to keep track of the sources that proved useful in adding to our knowledge about Midway Island. We hope that they will be useful to you.
Note: When we started collecting data about Midway Island, we were inconsistent about keeping track of where that data came from. As a result, this list of references and mentions is probably incomplete.
Midway Island is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>
From that list:
The Midway Island post office opened in 1943 and had closed by 1965.
