From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Greenfield was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Greenfield post office opened in 1820.

We also found Greenfield in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
