Welcome to Fernalda ...

So far, we found very little information about Fernalda. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Fernalda to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Fernalda - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Fernalda, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Fernalda , we believe that it would have been located within present day Wise County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Fernalda, you might consider that their post office opened in 1892.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Fernalda was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Fernalda post office opened in 1892.

We also found Fernalda on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Virginia (1911).
