The community of Woodstock is the Seat for Shenandoah County.

Shenandoah County was founded in 1772.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Shenandoah had a population of 43,557 people. This is an increase of 3.72% since the last Census (which gave a population of 41,993 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Shenandoah represented 0.52% of the total population of Virginia.
