Time Zone: Loudoun County lies in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Leesburg is the Seat for Loudoun County.

Loudoun County was founded in 1757.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Loudoun had a population of 414,872 people. This is an increase of 32.84% since the last Census (which gave a population of 312,311 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Loudoun represented 3.9% of the total population of Virginia.

While it makes interesting reading all by itself, it should be of special interest to genealogists and family historians looking for people who were either affected by or directly involved in such tragedies.
