The community of King George is the Seat for King George County.

King George County was founded in 1721.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> King George had a population of 26,981 people. This is an increase of 14.4% since the last Census (which gave a population of 23,584 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, King George represented 0.29% of the total population of Virginia.
