So far, we found very little information about Bonton. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Bonton to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Bonton , we believe that it would have been located within present day Bedford County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Bonton, you might consider that their post office opened in 1901.

Time Zone: The area where Bonton was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Bonton was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Bonton post office opened in 1901.

We also found Bonton on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Virginia (1911).
