Welcome to Aid ...

So far, we found very little information about Aid. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Aid to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Aid - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Aid, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Aid , we believe that it would have been located within present day Caroline County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Aid, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1901.

Time Zone: The area where Aid was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

Communities Also Named Aid ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 3 communities that are also named Aid - they are located in Georgia, Missouri and Ohio.

For more information, see our Tidbits & Trivia Page for Aid.

Adding Aid to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Aid was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Aid post office opened in 1901.

We also found Aid on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Virginia (1911).

Footnotes ...

<1>We use the term 'Historic' broadly and it generally means that the community no longer exists. However, it can also mean that the community might still exist, but was significantly larger or had a more 'official' existence in the past than it does now. Unfortunately our sources of data have proven to be unreliable. If you can provide us with more specific information about Aid, please let us know so that we can improve our accuracy.
<2>If you're interested in how the shape of Virginia's counties, including Caroline, have changed over time, we recommend the Atlas of Historical County Boundaries.
