Welcome to Adelphia ...

So far, we found very little information about Adelphia. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Adelphia to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Adelphia - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Adelphia, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Adelphia , we believe that it would have been located within present day Scott County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Adelphia, you might consider that their post office opened in 1893.

Time Zone: The area where Adelphia was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

Communities Also Named Adelphia ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 2 communities that are also named Adelphia - they are located in Kansas and New Jersey.

Adding Adelphia to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Adelphia was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Adelphia post office opened in 1893.

We also found Adelphia on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Virginia (1911).
