Reeves County was founded in 1883 and was created by taking area from Pecos County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Reeves had a population of 15,951 people. This is an increase of 15.73% since the last Census (which gave a population of 13,783 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Reeves represented 0.05% of the total population of Texas.
