Parker County was founded in 1855. Parker was created by taking area from Bosque and Navarro Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Parker had a population of 143,149 people. This is an increase of 22.43% since the last Census (which gave a population of 116,927 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Parker represented 0.47% of the total population of Texas.
