The community of Comanche is the Seat for Comanche County.

Comanche County was founded in 1856. Comanche was created by taking area from Bosque and Coryell Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Comanche had a population of 13,629 people. This is a decrease of 2.47% since the last Census (which gave a population of 13,974 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Comanche represented 0.06% of the total population of Texas.
