Calhoun County was founded in 1846. Calhoun was created by taking area from Jackson, Matagorda and Victoria Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Calhoun had a population of 21,237 people. This is a decrease of 0.67% since the last Census (which gave a population of 21,381 people in 2010).
