While our initial data about Swift came from various goverment sources (GNIS, US Census, FIPS), we also found mention of Swift in various books, maps and other sources. When we find a mention, a fact or snippet, we add that information to our Gazetter.

Swift is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>

From that list:

The Swift post office opened in 1890 and had closed by 1909.

A note taken from the Shipper's Guide for Swift:
Services available in 1895: had a Post Office, no Railroad mentioned
