So far, we found very little information about Porters. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Porters would have been located within present day Henry County<2>.


The location of Porters has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3>


While we don't have a date for the founding of Porters, you might get a feel for it by knowing that the earliest mention that we've found (so far) was on a map dated 1888.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Porters is 380 feet [116 m] above sea level.<4>.

Time Zone: The area where Porters was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Porters was on a map titled Map of Tennessee (from Rand McNally, 1888).

We also found Porters in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
