While our initial data about Mixie came from various goverment sources (GNIS, FIPS), we also found mention of Mixie in various books, maps and other sources. When we find a mention, a fact or snippet, we add that information to our Gazetter.

We've created the following list to keep track of the sources that proved useful in adding to our knowledge about Mixie. We hope that they will be useful to you.

Mixie is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>

From that list:

The Mixie post office opened in 1884 and had closed by 1904.

A note taken from the Shipper's Guide for Mixie:
Services available in 1895: had a Post Office, no Railroad mentioned
