Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, McEwen had an population of 1,732 people. This is a decrease of 1.03% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 1.76% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, McEwen had a population of 1,750 people (which is 9.44% of the total population of Humphreys County). This makes McEwen the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of McEwen represents 0.03% of the population of Tennessee (which has 6,346,105 people), making it the state's 181st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,750 people, the population of McEwen increased 2.82% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,702 people).
