Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Gibson had an population of 386 people. This is a decrease of 2.53% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 26.56% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Gibson had a population of 396 people. This makes Gibson the county's 9th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 396 people, the population of Gibson increased 29.84% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 305 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Gibson was on a map titled Map of Tennessee (from Rand McNally, 1888).
