From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Chestnut Ridge was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Chestnut Ridge post office opened in 1847.

We also found Chestnut Ridge on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Tennessee (1888).
