Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Mound City had an population of 67 people. This is a decrease of 5.63% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 20.24% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Mound City had a population of 71 people. This makes Mound City the county's 5th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 71 people, the population of Mound City decreased 15.48% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 84 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Mound City was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Mound City post office opened in 1885.

We also found Mound City in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
