Corson County was founded in 1909.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Corson had a population of 4,076 people. This is an increase of 0.64% since the last Census (which gave a population of 4,050 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Corson represented 0.5% of the total population of South Dakota.
