The community of Tunkhannock is the Seat for Wyoming County.

Wyoming County was founded April 4, 1842 and was created by taking area from Luzerne County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Wyoming had a population of 26,794 people. This is a decrease of 5.12% since the last Census (which gave a population of 28,241 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Wyoming represented 0.22% of the total population of Pennsylvania.
