Time Zone: Franklin County lies in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Chambersburg is the Seat for Franklin County.

Franklin County was founded September 9, 1784 and was created by taking area from Cumberland County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Franklin had a population of 155,027 people. This is an increase of 3.4% since the last Census (which gave a population of 149,925 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Franklin represented 1.18% of the total population of Pennsylvania.
