Footnotes ...

<1>	When there's a risk of an area code running out of phone numbers, an 'Overlay Area Code' is created that has the same geographic boundaries as the existing area code. In this case, the 905 code has been Overlayed with one of the following codes: 289, 365 or 742. New phone numbers in the Aurora area will be assigned with one of these codes: 905, 289, 365 or 742. As a result, placing a call in the Aurora area will require 10-digit dialing (where you enter both the area code and then the phone number).
<2>	The Canadian Postal Code consists of 6 characters, where the first three characters are the 'Forward Sortation Area (FSA)', with the last three characters being the 'Local Delivery Unit (LDU)'. In the case of Aurora, we provide only the FSA and not the LDU. The Canadian Postal Codes were created as a way of grouping addresses to make delivery more efficient. So keep in mind that any given Postal Code is only 'loosely' associated with a community (such as Aurora). The boundaries of the Postal Code can be changed, re-assigned, eliminated or overlapped with other Postal Codes. When looking for a Postal Code, whether Aurora or elsewhere, it's always best to check the website of the Canada Post / Postes Canada.
<3>	The elevation is an estimate for the area around Aurora - it will be higher in some places and lower in others.
<4>	Longitude & latitude values may not be the geographic center of Aurora, rather it may be a prominent intersection or the center of population, etc. It will vary depending on the source.
