From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Piney was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Piney post office opened in 1913.

We also found Piney on a map titled George#&160;F. Cram Map (1922).
