While we don't have a date for the founding of Konawa, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1904.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Konawa had an population of 1,203 people. This is a decrease of 7.32% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 18.66% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Konawa had a population of 1,298 people (which is 5.09% of the total population of Seminole County). This makes Konawa the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Konawa represents 0.03% of the total population of Oklahoma (which has 3,751,351 people), making it the state's 183rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,298 people, the population of Konawa decreased 12.24% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,479 people).

We originally found mention of Konawa in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Konawa was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Konawa post office opened in 1904.

We also found Konawa on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Oklahoma (1911).
