Muskogee County was founded in 1907.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Muskogee had a population of 68,097 people. This is a decrease of 4.08% since the last Census (which gave a population of 70,990 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Muskogee represented 1.89% of the total population of Oklahoma.
